Wayne F. Brewster

Wayne F. Brewster, 65, passed away Sunday (May 25, 2008) in Jones Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Brewster was born on Jan. 13, 1943, in Wellsville to Nelson and Margaret (Tuttle) Brewster. He was a 1960 graduate of Greenwood Central School and later earned a two-year degree at Alfred State College. On June 27, 1964, in Wellsville, he married Nancy A. Wilkins, who survives. Wayne owned and operated Brewster Dairy Farm for 30 years. He drove school bus for Canisteo-Greenwood Central School for 20 years until his retirement in 2007.In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Brewster of Andover, Burton (Melinda) Brewster of Montour Falls and Derrick (Sherrye) Jeanmarie of Hughesville, Md.; three brothers, Jeff (Linda) Brewster of Shermans Dale, Pa., Keith (Geniese) Brewster of Howard and Neil (Bonnie) Brewster of Andover; five grandchildren, Noah Brewster, Micah Brewster, Victoria Brewster, Shani Jeanmarie and Elijah Jeanmarie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wayne enjoyed bird watching, vegetable and flower gardening and making maple syrup in the spring. He was a longtime member and head elder in Andover Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, president of Hornell Camp of Gideons International, chairman of Greenwood Assessment Review Board and a member of the board of Northeast Dairy Cooperative.


Uncle Neil, my Dad, Uncle Jeff, and Uncle Wayne at my wedding 2 years ago. Whenever the family got together we took pictures of the 4 of them like this. They were very close. Today was Uncle Wayne's funeral. It was good to see family, but hard to think that one of my dad's brothers is gone. That generation was supposed to live forever, I thought.

I know what you mean about thinking your Aunts and Uncles are immortal. I'm so sad for you and your family!
